Denmark Native Awarded $5,000 Scholarship!

andyNews

Congratulations to Christina Jorgensen from Denmark on being awarded $5,000 from The Pinky & Joe Brier Scholarship foundation. Christina is in her COM/CFI right now, she heard about the scholarship from MLH’s student liaison, and just “went for it”. Advice to other students looking to apply for scholarships? “Go for it! Support others and be sincere! I’m sure that the people reviewing your scholarship application will be able to feel your enthusiasm through the paper!”

“My biggest obstacle has definitely been my journey of getting here. I left my friends, family, and my own company behind to get where I am now and follow my ultimate dream of flying helicopters! I got my Private License in New York but had always had a dream of going to Hawaii to train and get my further ratings.” Now that Christina is here in Hawaii at MLH, she hopes her training will take her “A lot of places! I’m very adventurous, and I believe that flying in adverse conditions will make me an even greater pilot. I want to build as many hours as possible here in the US and hopefully in places like Hawaii and Alaska! And then I hope to get a job in Greenland before getting enough hours to fly HEMS, which is what I really want! But for me, it is just as much about the journey and flying helicopters as it is about reaching my ultimate goal!”

Congratulations again Christina! We look forward to seeing your Checkride photo soon, and can’t wait to hear what’s next for you!
