High DA Training

When people think of Hawai’I the picture that always comes to mind is lounging on a warm Beach on a tropical island with pineapple drinks and aloha shirts.

The Big Island of Hawai’i is incredibly special in terms of having some of the most diverse climate zones all combined. We have big volcanoes ranging to 12,000ft+, tropical rainforests, lava fields, and the warm white sand beaches. This culmination of geographical wonder provides a unique training environment, to get mountain and high DA training because of warm and high areas while still giving tropical weather training days year-round.

Our Mountain Flying Course starts off with ground lessons before heading up the volcano to cover helicopter performance, weather, emergency procedures, navigation, etc.

Then, depending on the choice of aircraft, the student will gain experience in flying through the elements from 6,000ft to 13,000ft MSL. The altitudes coupled with the warm and humid temperatures of Hawai’i, make it an ideal high-density altitude scenario. We believe this training in a controlled environment with safety measures to be a beneficial experience to any pilot who wants to gain better judgement and understanding of how to fly an aircraft close to its operating limits to help them become better pilots with more sound decision making skills.

Upon completion of the course to MLH standards, the student will be given a professional evaluation and critique to further the student’s foray into this specific mode of flying.
