Mauna Loa Helicopters ended July with our first ever Summer Helicopter Camp. We invite four 11-13 years to participate in a free helicopter camp. During a time of COVID MLH wanted to give a little something back to our community. For two weeks, the young student pilots did ground lessons, SIM flying, learned about the R22 engine, and participated in many science experiments. They even got to climb into a Black Hawk!
“The Sim is so much fun, its way harder than a video game”- Jayda shared with us at the end of the camp. All four students left with BIG smiles on their faces, and eyes opened up to a career opportunity many of them did not know was possible for them in Hawaii.
