andyNews, Student of the Month

April 2019 Student of the Month
Meet Massimiliano Brighetti, age 20, from Nairobi, Kenya. Working on FAA Private and Commercial

At what point did you know you wanted to fly helicopters?

As far back as I can remember, my dad has some of “art” projects from when I was 6-8 years old and they are all helicopter related.

Why did you pick MLH?

I was writing to many schools but MLH was by far the most helpful in giving me information and helping me get to the school-plus it’s in Hawaii.

What are some of your favorite things about flying with MLH?

The views and the instructors. Every flight was made more fun by the people I was flying/training with. I have too many favorite experiences, flying my first night flight in Hawaii with Kaj and we saw the BIGGEST shooting star I have ever seen in my life it lasted around 5 seconds before it disappeared.

Where do you hope your training will take you? Goals?Back home to Kenya where I can start working for my family’s company @kidl_helicopters. My goal is to be respected by those who know me and for those who I fly to want to fly with me again. I want to help my dad make our company the best in East Africa.

What advice would you give to people just starting out in their training?Read the books! And know that all the exams and paperwork is worth it because the flying is bloody awesome.
