Kona Student of the Month: Robin Reich

andyNews, Student of the Month

November 2019 Student of the Month
Meet Robin Reich, age 24, from Austria.

Kona Base selected Robin Reich as their November Student of the month. Robin is a 24-year-old from the Austrian Alps currently in his CFI rating. When Robin was serving in the Austrian Amry he released after working with the helicopters, he knew this was what he wanted to do!
Robin shared a few obstacles he had to overcome to get where he is today; “First learning all those Aviation Terms in English, trying to understand everything and finally switching in the role of the instructor during my CFI Training and “teach” maneuvers whilst flying. You get used to it though.”  Robin’s log term goal is to go back to Austria and fly EMS “but that’s a long long way away right now”. Robin picked MLH because “a former student told me how good the Training here is. Also, it´s one of the few schools that offer the F-1 visa.
Advice Robin would like to share with future students’ “Also if you have doubts before you start your training, it´s totally worth it! Best decision of my life. Sometimes you just gotta go for it.”
Thus far in his training his favorite experience has been ” I did an awesome XC flight to Maui, Molokai, lanai and back to Kona. But nothing beats the feeling of passing a checkride!”
