Robinson Helicopter Company Announces their New ‘Instructor Pilot’ Standardization Course with a Focus on Safety and Precision

Benjamin Fouts, President and CEO of Mauna Loa Helicopters, received an invitation from Robinson Helicopter Company to contribute insights and recommendations to their innovative new training program. Robinson Helicopter Company, renowned worldwide for its helicopter design and manufacturing, has developed a cutting-edge Instructor Pilot (IP) Standardization Course. This comprehensive initiative aims to enhance helicopter flight training by arming instructors with the expertise needed to cultivate highly skilled pilots.

The IP program presents graduates with the opportunity to join a network of endorsed training providers. Here are a few key features of the new course:

  • Full-Week Curriculum Classroom sessions span Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 pm, enabling in-depth exploration of essential topics.
  • Focus on Flight Proficiency: Instructors undergo extensive flight training, and facilitation hands-on practice to refine their skills.
  • Back to Basics & Precision: Emphasizing fundamental maneuvers, advanced procedures, and responses to system failures ensuring instructors are adept at teaching both foundational and advanced flying techniques.
  • Aircraft Expertise: Thorough instruction on Robinson helicopter design equips instructors with a comprehensive understanding of the aircraft they will train others to pilot.
