Tell us about your career path.
Colin shared other jobs he has done after leaving MLH, “I flew caravans as an airplane tour pilot in Hawaii while also flying tours for Paradise, and I also took 6 months off to go fly with some friends up at Temsco in Juneau, Alaska. That was a great time.”
What do you find unique, challenging, or fulfilling about your job?

The biggest challenge of my current job is that it consists of much more than just flying. There is a lot of paperwork involved in the business side of aviation and as far as my base goes, I am essentially on my own. That means I’m managing the base supplies, maintenance scheduling, picking up/dropping off passengers from the main terminal, coordinating the flight schedule, etc., but I’m also the only pilot. It can be hard to balance responsibilities in a way that allows me to complete non-flying tasks efficiently/effectively and still be able to get in and fly without being distracted by those training manual revisions I still need to write.

What other positions have you held?
He flew tours, and VIP charters and some utility work in the MD500, B407, B429, and the good ol’ Cessna Caravan.
Do you have any other comments or suggestions for those just beginning in the industry?
With a chuckle he smiled and said “Well, I haven’t hit anything yet. Knock on wood.”
