Utility/Charter Pilot, Helinord Norden
Sweden
Who are you flying for currently?
I am a Utility/Charter Pilot at Helinord Norden in Sweden
Where are you flying and for what company?
2008
What ratings do you hold?
I Completed the Professional Pilot Program CFI/CFII. Working as an instructor I also obtained an ATP just before leaving the school.
Where are you flying and for what company?
HeliNord Norden, based in Sweden.
What type of work are you doing now?
In the winter I take people Heli-skiing and last summer I flew them out to small lakes in the mountains. I love living and working at the ski resort. Skiing is one of my great passions and flying the Alouette is a real treat.
What kind of helicopter(s) do you fly?
Alouette III (SA316B) mostly, but also Bell 206.
What do you find unique, challenging, or fulfilling about your job?

Flying in the mountains in winter conditions and working in remote areas in the summer where I need to take a lot of responsibility outside the helicopter.

Was there anything in particular that you learned at MLH that made you especially ready for a situation you have encountered since attending?
Training with the high winds and mountains among other challenges in Hawaii prepared me well for the type of flying I do now.
What did you like best about MLH?
I really like the fact of being like a small family and the different locations, I mean, during my training I met a lot of students and instructors from different backgrounds. I think this is a good way to mature as a pilot.
Would you recommend Mauna Loa to others?
Absolutely! In fact I already have. For me it was definitely the best choice of school. I highly appreciate the diverse training environment and the one on one instruction.
Do you have any other comments or suggestions for those just beginning in the industry?
Motivation and genuine interest are the most important resources when studying, if you can foster them you will enhance your results. If you're a new CFI, enjoy this great time and make it fun for your students. You are both pursuing the same goals and dreams, you just happen to be a bit further along the path. Help guiding your student and don’t forget to continue along the path yourself. There is a lot you can learn while teaching and also working later on in your career.
