Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo celebrated its 13th birthday on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 0900 to 1400. Mauna Loa Helicopters had the honor of participating in this event, a day focused on aviation that included live presentations, planetarium shows, booths, exhibits, and activities.
Children had the opportunity to walk around the hall and learn about different factors in aviation. Representing our school was Assistant Chief pilot Jacob Pearson, Assistant Chief Pilot Kaj Loken-Kim, Student Liaison Brittany, CFI Kriti Garuda, CFI Tianna Castillo, and General Manager Natalie Lee. They spent the day sharing with the children about helicopter flight training, passed out over 2,000 MLH stickers and made paper helicopters for the children.
Giving back to the community while sharing with them why our flight training program is one to be a part of making this day great! Thanks to our MLH volunteers for going, looking forward to the next event.
