Matt Cornfield came to Mauna Loa Helicopters in 2012, he graduated our Professional Pilot Program in 2013.
Industry support (oil/gas pipelines), forest fire suppression, utility, passenger transport, and wildlife surveying.
Bush flying and remote winter operations is probably the most challenging in terms of planning. Wildfires are pretty hectic with a lot of mountainous terrains etc.
We asked Matt to share a little more about his career success he simply replied with; " I don't think that I could have been in a better position to search for work in Canada that I was after having completed the training at MLH and having worked as an instructor, assistant chief, and tour pilot. The foundation and experience that I gained were invaluable and really helped with my comfort and adjustment to some very different types of flying work in some very different environments."
