Who are you flying for currently?
I am a Utility/Firefighting Pilot at Windward Aviation Inc. in Hawaii
What kind of helicopter(s) do you fly?
AS355 and 500.
What do you find unique, challenging, or fulfilling about your job?

Everything poses a challenge. We do powerline contracting such as short hauling, longlining gear and power lines. The challenge is being at close proximity to power lines.

Was there anything in particular that you learned at MLH that made you especially ready for a situation you have encountered since attending?

There are no ways to train for what I do other than be it experience based, but I could say that MLH has given me all the proper tools to get to the position I am in right now.

What did you like best about MLH?

It was all good. I mostly enjoyed the instructor I had at that time who was very informative and professional.

Would you recommend Mauna Loa to others?

I always do.

Do you have any other comments or suggestions for those just beginning in the industry?

I believe that MLH is the best choice of schools due to its location and the areas you get to train at as close to real world settings.
