Laura’s passion for helicopters began with an unforgettable experience: a helix-ski ride as a reward for her hard work as an employee. “My mind exploded with excitement flying around the snowy peaks in the Chugach Mountains and landing on the ridgelines,” she recalls. This exhilarating introduction to the world of aviation sparked a deep-seated love for flying.
Laura’s journey didn’t stop there. Laura spent a summer as a fly-fishing guide on remote Alaskan rivers, accessible only by helicopter or bush plane, These adventures as a passenger only fueled her enthusiasm, ultimately leading her to pursue a career in aviation.
After completing her Commerical Checkride, Laura shared her reasons for choosing Mauna Loa Helicopters as her training school over the schools in Alaska:
