Mauna Loa Helicopters had the honor to be a volunteer participant in the 2021 STEM Fest for the Girl Scouts of Hawaii on November 11th. Over 300 Girl Scouts received a box in the mail filled with science activities to help make this virtual event one of a kind while they earned a fun new badge.
Agnes, Mauna Loa Helicopters’ Assistant Chief pilot, did an excellent job creating a 15-minute video explaining to these young bright minds how a helicopter is able to fly and how to become a pilot when they grow up. She ended the video with a fun interactive demonstration of how a helicopter is able to fly, which each Girl Scout received a toy helicopter in their box to try at home.
We are so thankful we were able to be a part of this great event, and hope to be invited again next year. Helping young females learn about becoming pilots is something our school prides itself on.
